Inca Fashions
Kim DeVos-Brooks’ experience with alpaca fiber started in 1997 with her own alpacas. Almost immediately, she saw a disconnect between the alpaca products that were on the market then and the kinds of fashions that a US clientele would not only wear, but love. So she started looking into this gap and how it might be filled.
Kim used her design experience to create fashion forward items, and these efforts culminated in Inca Fashions - “Inca” to recognize the history and culture that literally pulled alpacas back from the brink of extinction and also “INCA” as an acronym for Incredible Natural Creations from Alpaca.
Inca Fashions has grown into an international venture that provides the finest alpaca wool apparel, products, and accessories to its customers who are quickly falling in love with the luxury of alpaca fiber.
Seriously, Feel This
Alpaca fiber is just unbelievably soft. Besides that, it tests three times warmer than wool and has stronger tensile strength than cashmere, yielding luxury garments that stand up to daily wear and get softer and cozier with age. Because alpaca fiber is non-porous and hypo-allergenic, you won’t experience a “wool smell,” nor will alpaca hold dander or oils. Its thermal properties and breathability mean that alpaca garments are warm in the winter and comfortable in the summer. (As a side note, we find that our Heartfelt alpaca insoles seems to pull the heat and moisture away from our feet in the summer.)
It’s not always easy to find pure alpaca products in the US, but this is a specialty of Inca Fashions. There is nothing that feels better to the had or body than a pure alpaca sweater or blanket.
